Converted a Property Database system from an MS-DOS Clipper Application to FoxPRO for Windows and DOS. Developed conversion technology to convert existing screen layouts and existing code optimally to the Windows Platform. Programmed an advanced report generator /menu system that can run existing Clipper DOS reports in FoxPRO/Windows and DOS and allows GUI based development of new reports as well.
Utilized advanced FoxPRO software development tools to rapidly develop new functionality using RAD principles. The new tools include the FoxPRO Menu Builder, Project Manager, Screen Builder, Report Builder, Cross Platform Transporter. Other tools were developed for the Client Ministries to expedite development even further. This resulted in a modular system of high maintainability minimized complicated custom code segments. One development effort resulted in 2 versions of the same system, Windows and DOS and high portability to future operating platforms and language versions.
Created a Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) interface between a FoxPRO/Windows application and a third-party Visual Basic application. The development obstacle of scarce and frequently changing specifications was overcome by designing the FoxPRO/Windows DDE end to be entirely parameter driven and completely customizable. The flexible DDE interface allows to change DDE command syntax, parameters, timing, sequence and Variable names by parameter-tables . This avoided many recompiles resulting from the third-party vendor’s changing needs and requirements. The DDE interface further allowed to monitor the interaction between the systems and even allowed to manually simulate the responses of the other system if it was not operational.
Designed and implemented short term fund investment management system. This system was developed meeting an extremely tight deadline in less than 1/20th of the time it took a competitor to develop a similar product. It is faster, more powerful and flexible than the competition’s and is now used to manage funds of over 200 Million dollars.
Developed Artificial Intelligence program for financial reconciliation. This program uses advanced heuristic search methods to evaluate over 200000 combinations PER SECOND and finds all possibly correct combinations. This program searched through trillions of combinations and made it possible to clear a backlog of reconciling over hundred thousand transactions and to meet vital audit deadlines within one week.
